In this sermon, 'Justice and Righteousness Is a Holy Cause', Pastor Conaway encourages the children of God to advocate for the poor, orphans, widows, and foreigners because God requires it of us. God is love and as His ambassadors we should operate in love. When we meet the needs of those who are struggling, we please God. However, if we don't express love by meeting the needs of the least of those among us, we don't please God.

In the days of Amos, the people in power in Israel and Judah were living in luxury while the poor were being oppressed. God sent Amos to tell the people in power that He didn't want to hear their songs, receive their gifts, or be in their assemblies unless they repent and "let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream."

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He was concerned about the poor, orphans, widows, and foreigners in Amos' day, He is concerned about those people today, and as ambassadors of God we should be concerned about those people also.
