Although we are living in perilous times, we are instructed in Philippians 4:4 - 8 to be joyful at all times. In this sermon, 'Rejoice In The Lord Always', Pastor Conaway teaches how we can rejoice in the Lord at all times by meditating on what He has done for us through His vicarious death on Calvary, how He has led us by His Spirit through various trials, what He is currently doing for us, and what He promises to do in the future. We must pay more careful attention to these things, so we do not forget. We have symbols like the cross, baptism, and communion to help us remember these things because there is a natural human tendency to forget. To overcome bad feelings and negative thoughts that have a tendency to rob us of joy, we mediate on positive things that "...are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of a good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy."
