In this sermon, 'The Reason Why Jesus Came', Pastor Conaway teaches what happened in the Garden of Eden that changed the world and made it necessary for Jesus to come to earth. He declared in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." Jesus came to save us; not to condemn us! He goes on to say in verse 18, "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already..." Those who do not believe are condemned already because of sin. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the forbidden tree, sin entered the world and death through sin came to all men because all sinned (Rom 5:12). And according to Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ." Jesus came from heaven to earth to pay the sin debt for mankind by sacrificing His life, and all who believe in Him are saved and have eternal life.
